Suzanne Bridges - Children's Work Co-ordinator

Having been in post a few years now, I’ve had the privilege of working with many children and families from around the Circuit and in local communities. Not to mention the amazing church volunteers that enable these events and groups to take place!
A flavour of my work includes Children’s Circuit Camp, Messy Church, Godly Play, toddler groups and school projects such as the Christmas Journey….
My role is also a supportive one, facilitating volunteers through organising resourcing and training events. Additionally, I enjoy co-editing In Touch, our Circuit magazine, and working collaboratively with colleagues of different faiths and denominations on Kirklees SACRE.
Godly Play is something that I’m especially passionate about; the open-ended wondering and opportunities for exploring stories and faith, and how these might relate to our own personal journeys. From my experience of Godly Play in schools, I’m now looking to expand the project to explore Godly Play with older people in care homes.
I love spending time with the family when they’re around; an evening of board games is popular, but can get a bit competitive with Paul and our three teenage sons! I enjoy walking and trying to keep fit with Zumba! When I get chance, I like to indulge my passion for cakes with a spot of baking – though I’m not quite up to the Great British Bake Off just yet! Relaxation for me often involves getting lost in a good book or film.
