Shirley Burton – Circuit Administrator
My role as Circuit Administrator is a new one in the Circuit which means there are plenty of different tasks that have fallen under my remit. The main aim is to remove as much of the day-to-day admin from Ministers as possible, to allow them to concentrate on other things. Much of my role so far has been finding ways to effectively communicate between the circuit and the churches and gathering information to make church life run smoothly. I am also a contact point for the Circuit and have found myself sorting out a range of issues from a brass band practice location to the redistribution of church furniture.
Before working with the church I was a senior Lunchtime Supervisor at a local infant and nursery school. Back in the dim and distant past I have had a number of office jobs mostly related to Data Protection. Outside of this role I also volunteer at the school where I used to work, helping both in class and in their Forest School. I enjoy spending time with my family, when the children will come out of their bedrooms! When possible Adrian and I try to coax them on a walk around the local area. I also love watching a variety of sports or a gentle detective drama on TV. |
