Change Begins with a Bicycle
In these difficult times of the pandemic there are challenges for everyone, not just at home or in our local communities, but worldwide. The Change Begins with a Bicycle project provides an opportunity to have a shared positive focus and to know that individually and together we can still make a difference.
Through our project, we’ll be supporting the work of All We Can, in particular the Change Begins with a Bicycle project based in Butugaya, Uganda. It’s through their links with FABIO (First African Bicycle Organisation), that they are able to help some of the poorest communities in rural Uganda – improving access to education, healthcare and market.
And it all begins with the humble bicycle!

Key Aim's and Objectives
So, what are we looking to achieve?
Education and Awareness – by sharing the work of charities like All We Can, we want to inform people of what life can be like for others (global perspective) and encourage reflection on our own situation.
Partnership – the key to a successful project involves working together and creating community with others. Potential partners include All We Can (FABIO), Circuit churches, local community (cycling clubs, bike shops, schools…) and MWiB.
Fundraising – this is just one element of the project, raising money for All We Can in support of their bicycle project work. Ideas for fundraising include sponsored cycle rides, unique fundraising activities/events, dedicated collection at a church service etc.
Fun and Celebration – the project is also about sharing fun together and celebrating our achievements and the work of All We Can. This feels more important now than ever – the need to bring hope.
All We Can – we want to encourage social justice and share the message that we can help make a positive difference for others. The challenge is what will we do.
