The Huddersfield circuit is part of the worldwide Methodist church. This is a new circuit from September 2013, comprising 30 churches formed from the former Huddersfield and Holmfirth circuits. The oldest Methodist church in the circuit is found at Shelley. It opened on Whit Sunday, 1785.
The circuit includes churches along the Colne Valley from Marsden to Bradley and along the Holme Valley between Huddersfield and Holmfirth as well as on the surrounding hills.
